About Me

Douglas Jacobson

I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2006 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering. My roles spanned from the private and public sectors including reliability engineering, design engineering and systems engineering.  My interest in software engineering started three years ago when I taught myself data science, and full stack development.

Currently, I am a QA software engineer at a small company based in Portsmouth, NH.   In my own time, I write web applications using Ruby on Rails and Django. This past year, I coded a fully functional eCommerce platform with user authentication, and PCI compliant payment systems.  Currently, I am deploying a new application on AWS using Elastic Beanstalk.   This application will include: payment integration systems with Stripe, real time web socket communications/notifications, scheduling, user management, and a booking system.

Quickly eliminate the big universe of what not to do, follow up with a fluent, multidisciplinary attach on what remains, then act decisively when, and only when, the right circumstances appear.
